Around The Fire

Hello Hello! It's incredible. Outside the weather is sunny, sky is blue (it's November!!! It should be grey and foggy here!!!!) and I finished ten minutes ago to read the first number of Garth Ennis and steve Dillon's " Preacher"...Soon I move out for a walk. I don't know, this volume has more than ten years but it's absolutely one of my favourites tales. It's like Lobo, it relax my brain and burn the bad thoughts. Recently I took back from the graveyard also a genuine volume of Mezzo and Pirus, Armed and Dangerous. There is so much inside these books... Some months ago, it was May, I went inside a comics store in Vienna, next by a big street in the central area. It was a treasure of whatever could make shine my eyes, but I had very few minutes. Franco, a friend, and Henna were waiting me outside with the car on the railway street and The Choice was urgent... "Hurry up and bring yourself here immediately" they just said in chorus. In some hours I knew we had to separate; she was flyin to Finland, I was taking a train for Italy and one month had to run before seeing us again. In that period before we left I believed she was looking me really strange when I was speaking about comics. Better, d'you know this feeling when Her eyes turns like guns and shoot all the miserable words you say? Ya, exactly. Now I also understand that at that time I was so unsecure about what I wanted to do that one day I was speaking about being tempted to do a school and the other one to run a graphic design agency, so I completely understand her point of view and her disappointment. But, but but but but... I wanted absolutely to give her something that really could make me understand if it was a savage allergy to all the comics world or if , with the right choice, I could leave to her something special that could at least begin a process of understandment.
What taking as present for making her see something completely out from the idea of "comics" she had? I took the volume of -Watchman-.Alan Moore. Jesus, if this doesn't work, I'm ready to pay my debts and become a monk, I said. For me it was a real discover when I bought it, even if I was allready a comics enthousiastic reader. But for me? What could I take for me for the loOoOooOong travel? The choice fell on Forty Niners, written by the same Alan Moore of Henna's Watchman and designed by Gene Ha. But I wanted something more. It was in that moment I took 100 Batman made by Paul Pope, and that, well, made me realize how much wonderfull is to experience some creative mind working together in the narration of a story. Thanks to Paul Pope on the train I didn't felt alone, it was a bizarre sensation, Henna was far, but I could feel like in a forest, under the tent with a little lamp. Somehow I really desired to go on drawing, thanks to a volume of Batman...Scary hun? On Monday I will move to Milan and fly to Henna in Finland. It's like my real birthday of the year... Ciao Bubu!!! :P

About the image...Ya, ya... I know, You want something new, but this is one of the illustrations made for -O.U.T.!- Somehow I want to make you understand how much I dedicated my attention to that project. Keep in touch!

The distance of the ants -vices and virtues of a regrettable experience-

-Once Upon a Time!- was a project I was working on untill one month ago. Now -O.U.T.!- finished to be runt. Sometimes things like these finish, they finish exausted for a misunderstandment, harmonized by intellectual differences or a lack of trust. They decade for a a privilege mostly, that all the believers in the old Bible of the Old Capitalistic view are thinking to represent, to personify and to handle. It is something that sounds like this : I will fuck you, because I allready fucked many before and you represent just a benefit more in my bank account. You know why this people is going to die with nothing in their hand more than a good prayer from a priest -by the way, paied for being there-? Because they are part of an establishment that grew up waisting the life of entire communities, families, writers, artists, engineers, teachers, with a not so subtle mechanism of esclavage. The freedom from provincialism is purging most of the boogey mans of this category and if still they stand it means that it's not enough the position, the people's choice between creating human value and esclavage to these incredible old dinosaurs. This project died for lies made for covering other lies and again and again and I should be frustrated just because I didn't trust my instinct and I got on for two months even if it was all smelling burned and maybe the house was allready in flames.
-O.U.T.!- had all my attentions, I made a lot for making a solid creative image of that brand, but I was working for a poor idiot. So all the artworks came back warpspeed. Now people can watch them here or by private mail and all in this little community around this blog with their kind words makes me feel I don't have to give up for what happened (thanks Henna, Yann, Marino, Ursula, Holger, Alberto, Richard,Andrej and all the wonderfull others).
I'm honestly gratefull.

Thanks Really a Lot You All

Yours

The last lie of Pinocchio

Dear Bubu and friends, something bad happened and still I don't know if that is positive or negative. In the latest months I was hooked up by a project with an industry. The industry wanted to dedicate me a personal collection and there were the conditions for that could happen easily. Right now conditions changed. Maybe because it had to happen like this, or I do not know, it was from some days I was getting a whiff of that smell a person understands something goes bad.
So today I made a few calls. It is very stupid, but as I expected it going in that way I was very calm and relaxed and I didn't say any bad. Treating people right when they know they should be treated as they deserve is too easy. Better a lave-taking veeery gentle, even kind. So here I leave an unfinished work it was part of that collection. Take care Pinocchio, take care, if you don't, anybody will for you. Some prefer to see - Life - as a dirty trace of shit left in the pants, I would say that if you don't want to be like someone living his or her life like that, it is much better to give the real value to things and people and creating human value where we are about to be. Hughs from the Monarchy of the fourth floor!
